why is season 4 so dark

I just watched Season 4 yesterday and god its dark. The thing with Beatrice's backstory glitching around is really confusing, but after a couple rewatches I caught on with it. I like the part when Beatrice goes out of the Grand Hotel but it glitches into Grnad Holet or something. The episode where Hollyhock was hallucinating was really strange, and while she is trying to stay looking nice for Hentreitta (the real one) it's really dark to think she to pretending to be happy (now that im writing this, who isn't). The end of Season 4 where BoJack is comforting Beatrice that kinda scared me to think she was going to die, but fortunately she lives on until Free Churro.
