Personality[]
Nicole appears to be timid, introverted, and soft-spoken. If the allegations against Hank are true, then Nicole's timid behavior likely stems from her falling victim to some sort of abuse from Hank. Little else is known about her.
Background[]
History[]
Nicole was the assistant of Hank Hippopopalous during the events of the episode. It is not known whether or not she is still Hank's assistant currently.
Season 2[]
In Hank After Dark, Diane wanted to publish an exposé on Hippopopalous in Manatee Fair but was unable to reach out to any of Hank's former assistants. Amanda Hannity then suggested that Diane reaches out to Hank's current assistant, and revealed to Diane a voicemail message that said, "Hi, my name is Nicole. I work for Hank Hippopopolous, and, um...I really need to talk to someone."
When Diane did meet with Nicole, however, Hank Hippopopalous came with her, implying that the entire meeting was set up as a trap for Hank to confront Diane.
It is not known whether Hank planned it as a trap from the very beginning (and instructed Nicole to leave that voicemail), or if Nicole's voicemail was genuine at the time when it was recorded, and Hank became aware of it and made it into a trap sometime after.
Trivia[]
- Nicole is short and skinny, making her look very small standing next to Hank Hippopopalous. Hank easily towers over her, emphasizing the power imbalance between Hank and his assistants.
- It's likely that Nicole is modeled on the red-billed oxpecker, which is known for living in mutualistic symbiosis with large mammals, such as hippopotamuses.
