Jogging Baboon makes his first appearance outside BoJack Horseman's house in Brand New Couch in Season 2. This sequence is repeated in several episodes. He has almost no lines, but he provides BoJack with some important life advice in the Season 2 finale, Out to Sea.
Despite being known as Jogging Baboon, he looks more like a Japanese Macaque.
He is seen wearing athletic gear consisting of a red, white, and blue shirt, grey ankle-length shorts, and lime green and white sneakers. He also wears white wristbands and a headband across his forehead.
He has a wise, sage-like persona. Little else is known about him.
He is also shown trotting through the flashback episode Out to Sea, alongside the same old woman who seems to be his running companion in 2007.
He shows up, in the opening to The BoJack Horseman Show, during the flashback in 2007. There is an elderly woman jogging with him.
- Jogging Baboon runs faster as Season 2 progresses.
- He also seems to start running downhill when things start to fall apart.
- He bears a strong resemblance to Rafiki from The Lion King, and like him, is also both wise and kind.
