Sadie is a minor and recurring character in BoJack Horseman. She is the teenage biological mother of Ruthie. Her first appearance is in The Amelia Earhart Story, in Season 5.
Physical Appearance[]
Sadie is a young woman with sandy blonde hair, with highlights; which is tied in a half-up, half-down hairstyle with a purple hair-tie. She has freckles on her face, arms, and chest. She has pink lips and grey eye shadow.
According to the model sheets, she's 5 1/2 ft tall.
She wears a dark grey tank top with white trim and dark blue jeans and also wears yellow star earrings, and a pair of light purple rhinestone-studded lace-up sneakers. She carries a zebra print purse with a hot pink trim.
She is pregnant for almost the entire Season 5 until she gives birth to her daughter in the twelfth episode The Stopped Show.
Personality[]
Sadie is a friendly, kind, and intelligent woman who is very observant of the world around her. This is a stark contrast from the "backwoods town" she grew up in.
She seems to be very independent and strong-willed as well, someone who is not afraid to tell others what she thinks of them, such as the way she calls out Princess Carolyn on her behavior.

Season 5[]

In The Amelia Earhart Story, Princess Carolyn meets Sadie, who was eighteen at the time, on a trip back to Eden, North Carolina the town she grew up in. Sadie got pregnant by her ex-boyfriend Strib who is a porcupine. This causes Princess Carolyn to flashback to her own teen pregnancy.
Princess Carolyn often tries to assure Sadie she loves the town they grew up in, and that she loves the bedazzled clothes she makes. However, her compliments are weak at best.

Sadie is quick to notice Princess Carolyn is not sincerely complimenting her, questioning why Princess Carolyn did not buy herself any of the clothes if she liked them so much.
She is sharp enough to call Princess Carolyn out on how manipulative she is, especially when noticing her interactions with other people over the phone. She goes on to tell Princess Carolyn she can't treat the adoption like it's another business deal and can't sweet-talk her way into this.
Princess Carolyn does not deny what Sadie has observed, but tells Sadie she only wants what's best for the baby. Sadie responds, just because Princess Carolyn works in show business, does not mean she knows how to raise a little girl.
Princess Carolyn also tells her to make her final decision for herself not for her boyfriend, the baby, or anyone else.
Princess Carolyn ends up adopting the little girl through an adoption agency, after being rejected by Bridget; who is another potential candidate, in The Stopped Show. This finally fulfills her desire to have a child.
