Gameplay
Decapathon is an in-universe game in the BoJack Horseman. It is a series of puzzle-based video games, similar to Tetris.

History[]
Although it is not known when exactly the first Decapathon game released, the series has been around since at least the mid-2000s, as Todd Chavez became addicted to the game while he was in high school.
As of 2014, the most recent game in the series is Decapathon VII, which was released shortly before the events of Zoës and Zeldas.
Season 1[]
In Zoës and Zeldas, BoJack is dismayed about Todd's sudden success, but still shows support. He takes Todd to get snacks at a convenience store, after hearing the news that potential financiers were coming to see a rehearsal tomorrow. It is at the store that Todd discovers Decapathon VII, the newest game in the video game series. It is the same series that ruined him in the past, in the ten cents bin. A woman standing behind him asks him to get a tape for her out of said bin.
BoJack staunchly tells Todd not to relapse, but Todd buys and secretly plays the video game, in an all-night binge. Todd ends up groggy the following morning, giving a shabby performance, disappointing Virgil and the financiers. BoJack consoles Todd and takes him home.
At the same time, it is shown that BoJack had not changed for the better by supporting Todd, as he bought Decapathon VII from Beast Buy, and placed it in the convenience store bargain bin. He had also paid off store clerk and Character Actress Margo Martindale, to manipulate getting the game into Todd's hands, the entire time—in order to jeopardize his chances of ever having a successful career. After Todd goes to bed, the receipt for BoJack's purchase of Decapathon VII is seen underneath the couch.
Trivia[]
- In Zoës and Zeldas, it was revealed at one point a movie adaptation of Decapathon was planned.
- BoJack Horseman was considered for the role of Dr. Decapitator, but the part ended up going to Robert Downy Sr. It is not clear whether the movie was finished and released, or if the project fell apart somewhere mid-production.
- It is also revealed in Zoës and Zeldas, that the reason Todd was kicked out by his mom, was because of his heavy addiction to the game.
Gameplay by an employee at Girl Croosh
- It is not known whether the character of "Dr. Decapitator" exists in the Decapathon games or if the character was made up for the movie, as the games themselves seem to have little to no plot to base a movie off of.
- In Commence Fracking, one of theGirl Croosh employees is seen playing the game.
