Erica is an unseen character, through being mentioned in BoJack Horseman. She is first mentioned in the pilot, in Season 1.
Physical Appearance
It is unknown what Erica looks like, her species is, or what her everyday attire is.
However, it is implied through various comments from Mr. Peanutbutter and BoJack, that she is seriously disfigured.
Background
History
The audience becomes aware of her existence through one-sided conversations and mentions by other characters, especially by Mr. Peanutbutter.
Whilst being occupied with something else, Mr. Peanutbutter will get distracted in some way by Erica, abruptly exclaiming: "Erica!," which is one of the series' longest-running recurring gags, premiering in the pilot episode.
Little is known about Erica, only small snippets of her life can be gathered, from the few statements when someone is talking to or about her.
As shown in the flashback from Hank After Dark, she was already friends with Mr. Peanutbutter when he was married to his now ex-wife Katrina; who seemed to be on friendly terms with Erica as well.
Erica might be either not a US citizen or a felon since she can't vote in national elections. Mr. Peanutbutter's numerous comments imply that the possible crime might have involved minors, given that Erica can't be at Todd's Disneyland because it's filled with children, and she was seen with a child-sized coffin.

Situation: BoJack and Mr. Peanutbutter are on the way to Princess Carolyn and Judah's wedding and BoJack feels insecure about being around people at the wedding. Mr. Peanutbutter reassures and promises BoJack he won't leave BoJack alone unless he encounters Erica.
Mr. Peanutbutter/BoJack:
Mr. Peanutbutter: [...] "And if you wanna stay, I'll stay there with you. I will not leave your side."
BoJack: "You sure?"
Mr. Peanutbutter: "Of course. I'm here for you buddy. No matter what. Unless I see my good friend Erica and get distracted by some noteworthy aspect of her character or presentation, but BoJack! What are the odds that would— "
Notes: It isn't shown when Mr. Peanutbutter greets Erica, but it's implied.
Trivia
- Mr. Peanutbutter seems to like using seeing Erica as an excuse to get out of situations or specific interactions that make him uncomfortable, though it is unknown if this is intentional or a coping mechanism he does subconsciously.
- Erica is one of the few people outside of the main characters to make an appearance or be mentioned in every season of BoJack Horseman:
- The other people are Tom Jumbo-Grumbo, Lenny Turteltaub, Sarah Lynn, Character Actress Margo Martindale, Meow Meow Fuzzyface and Charlotte Carson.
- Although Mr. Peanutbutter mentions Erica most often, she is also acquainted with BoJack Horseman, Princess Carolyn, and Katrina:
