Ayako is a female human scam artist pretending to live in Japan but actually living in L.A., she dated Todd Chavez online in BoJack Hates the Troops.
She angrily cusses at him in Japanese when she realizes he has lied to her. Presumably, she has scammed multiple others as well however, she shows no remorse or consequences for her actions.
Background
Ayako is a center call girl who uses her day job to scam people.
In her first appearance, she comes off as a charming and nice woman who is talking through webcam with Todd, even if she already wants to know Todd's mother's maiden name.
Later, she drops the sweet façade and yells at him for lying to her about being rich while only having a bit less than a hundred dollars in English.
She goes so far as to pretend to be living in Asia as part of her scam and acting like she does not speak English when she in actual fact can speak it fluently.
She never faces any repercussions or consequences for stealing money from Todd's (and possibly other people's) accounts, but given how little she gained from it and how furious she is at having wasted time and being lied to, it's safe to say she didn't get away with a lot either.
She's needlessly cruel to Todd once the gig's up and she doesn't get the money she thought she would.
As it turns out, her scam doesn't go the way she intended: she receives little money for it and has wasted a lot of time in planning. Sure, she isn't caught, but she has little to show for her actions.
Design
Ayako is a Japanese-American woman who has short above the shoulder length blue-black hair, an open grey business jacket, a pink deep V-neck shirt, tucked into a navy blue skirt with a red belt, a gold choker with teardrop pendants dangling from it, and black headphones with a mouthpiece, and dark magenta lipstick.
